Then that text showed up on my Samsung,
And I knew that cupid had willed it;
that we have a second shot at it,

I knew then that for whatever reason,
we couldn’t ignore the truth no more,
We’d been given the chance;
To poke old wounds and open scars,
A chance to rewrite the stars and pave a future,
script our own ending and make things right.

But between us lay a string of possible casualties,
And I didn’t know what terrified me more;
Between breaking some hearts or
Living with the knowledge that,
we’d turned down a second chance at happiness.
